IMTS 2026: Limitless Labs Puts Agentic AI CNC Programming on the Show Floor

At North America's largest manufacturing technology show, the Limitless CAM Agent ran live inside Siemens NX CAM and Mastercam, and manufacturers made clear what they now expect from AI.

CHICAGO, October 5, 2026: Limitless Labs used IMTS 2026, held September 14–19 at McCormick Place, to show enterprise manufacturers what agentic AI looks like inside the CAM software they already run. The week marked the IMTS debut of the Limitless CAM Agent and the company's first major industry appearance since its $20 million Series A in June.

Over six days, Limitless Labs exhibited at Booth #237605 in the IMTS AI Arena, presented a conference session on the first AI machinist, joined a panel on the IMTS+ Main Stage, ran live demonstrations at the Mastercam and Cimatron booths, and hosted two invitation-led events for manufacturing leaders and CAM programmers.

The First AI Machinist: Breaking the CNC Programming Bottleneck

On opening day, CEO David Priev and VP Product Dor Kopito presented "The First AI Machinist: Automating CNC, CMM, and DFM End-to-End" to a full room.

Their thesis was direct: in precision manufacturing, CNC programming, not machine capacity, has become the primary constraint on throughput. Experienced CNC programmers are retiring faster than shops can replace them, and every new job waits in their queue. Priev and Kopito then showed the Limitless CAM Agent programming a part live inside Siemens NX CAM. The agent recognized the part's features, selected tools from the shop's own library, and generated native, ready-to-post toolpaths for the programmer to review and approve.

“The constraint on throughput is no longer the machine. It's the program. Our goal is to give every programming team the capacity of its most experienced senior programmer, inside the CAM system it already trusts.”
David Priev, CEO, Limitless Labs

A full recording of the session will be published on the Limitless Labs YouTube channel.

Live Inside Mastercam and Cimatron

On Tuesday, Kopito led a live demonstration at the Mastercam showcase, with the agent running natively inside Mastercam, one of the most widely used CAM platforms in North American machine shops. Limitless Labs also kept a demo presence at the Cimatron booth from the opening day.

Alongside the Siemens NX CAM demonstrations, the partner sessions highlighted a core design principle behind the Limitless CAM Agent: it extends the CAM programming software manufacturers already rely on instead of replacing it.

IMTS+ Main Stage: Manufacturing Without Limits

On Thursday, September 17, Priev joined the "Manufacturing Without Limits" panel on the IMTS+ Main Stage with EOS and All Within My Hands, the Metallica foundation. The discussion examined where AI delivers measurable value in manufacturing today, what it takes to move from pilot to production, and how the industry can close the manufacturing skills gap.

What Manufacturers Asked For on the Show Floor

Conversations at the booth pointed to a market that has moved past curiosity. Visitors described AI in CAM as the most significant shift in CNC programming in decades. Many asked whether the agent could become "the ChatGPT of CAM": a system that does the heavy lifting while the programmer refines the result.

Speed, fit and faster onboarding

Visitors responded most strongly to three things:

  • •Speed: how quickly the agent analyzes a part and proposes a program.
  • •Fit: it works within existing CAM software and established processes.
  • •Faster onboarding: it can shorten the time it takes a new CNC programmer to become productive.

What sets it apart

Where the Limitless CAM Agent stands apart

Visitors consistently pointed to four things that distinguish the agent from other approaches to AI CNC programming:

  1. 01Human-in-the-loop control
  2. 02Recognition of complex features
  3. 03A natural-language interface
  4. 04Iterative, stock-aware programming

In the Media

Priev spent much of the week with the industry press:

  • •Machine Tool News: a video interview with publisher Arfan Qureshi after the main-stage panel.
  • •DemystifyingPLM: "CNC Programming Is Ready for an AI Upgrade", with PLM analyst Michael Finocchiaro, part of his IMTS 2026 industrial AI interview series.
  • •MarzMachine: a podcast conversation with James Marzilli, President of Marzilli Machine Co.
  • •Fabricating & Metalworking: a joint interview with Cimatron.

Before the show, Limitless Labs announced that enterprise manufacturers cut CNC programming time by up to 50% with the Limitless CAM Agent. Machine Tool News also named the company one of the IMTS 2026 AI exhibitors visitors cannot afford to miss.

Beyond the Show Floor

On Tuesday, September 15, Limitless Labs hosted a private executive dinner at Morton's The Steakhouse on Wacker Place. Engineering and operations leaders from aerospace, defense and automotive manufacturers met for an off-the-record discussion about deploying AI in production.

On Thursday, September 17, the company hosted "Limitless CAM Agent. Unlimited Beers." at Fatpour on South Indiana Avenue. CAM programmers and manufacturing engineers came for a live demonstration and a candid conversation about where AI fits in CAM programming.

What's Next

What Limitless Labs heard in Chicago is feeding directly into the Limitless CAM Agent roadmap. The company thanks everyone who visited the booth, attended a session, or joined its events.
